46 BEADED GECKO Lucasium damaeum

Endemic to Australia. Nocturnal, travelling large distances at night foraging, feeding on insects. Eyes are large and are a slit during the day but full during the night; eyes unable to be closed, covered by transparent scales which are cleaned by licking with the tongue. Found in drier arid and semi-arid parts of mainland states and territories.
