Found along the coast and hinterland of northern Australia. Usually in permanent freshwater rivers, lagoons and billabongs. Active by day, but forages mostly by night for fish, frogs, crustaceans and small reptiles, birds and mammals.

Also known as Estuarine Crocodiles. Coastal regions of northern and north-eastern Australia. Inhabitant of coastal rivers and swamps, often seen in open seas. Largely nocturnal, feeding on crustaceans, fish, reptiles, birds and mammals.
