Found in temperate grassy plains from far se SA to ACT and Hunter Valley Region of NSW. Shelters beneath rocks and grass tussocks. Most southernly flap foot lizard. Endangered in Vic and SA; vulnerable NSW and ACT.

Found in narrow westerly flowing watercourses along the upper reaches of the McDonald, Namoi, Severn and Gwydir River systems of north-east NSW, and an outlying population at Bald Rock Creek in south-east Queensland. Endangered, vulnerable.

Found on the coast and eastern interior from mid-eastern Queensland south to about Coffs Harbour, NSW. Shelters in rock crevices and cavities in timber in a variety of habitats including rock outcrops, woodlands,  and wet and dry sclerophyll forest.
